Good primer on SEO copywritingMar 03, 2010 Content Rich isn't an exhaustive guide to SEO, but it covers SEO from a copywriting standpoint. How do you write about pages, headlines, meta-tags and other web-copy to help your site rank higher on more search queries.
The Book
The book is separated into three parts: SEO Copywriting: The Basics, All the Flavors of SEO Copywriting, Real World SEO Copywriting and the Rest.
The first part, SEO Copywriting: The Basics, is a great introduction. He gives a brief history of how browsers catalog sites past and present, how to evaluate your Content Rich Quotient (a test he's devised to see your current level of optimization) and the importance of using keywords effectively in optimized content. One of the best takeaways from the section is that content aimed at consumers and browsers don't have to be mutually exclusive.
The second part, All the Flavors of SEO Copywriting, digs a bit deeper into writing particular types of copy: essential pages, articles, press releases, articles, blogs and PPC entries. He even gives an example of how to write a "direct response" sales letter site-an admittedly distasteful but sometimes effective approach. In the introduction of the book, he describes how his copywriting business took off after he crafted a few good articles. Within a few weeks of circulation, he was getting a load of calls and hundreds of quality links back to his site. In this section, he describes how to craft and circulate articles to establish credibility and link build.
The last part, Real World SEO Copywriting Examples & the Rest, Wuebben gives specific points of consideration when it comes to SEO copywriting depending on your real world context-big business, small business, outsourcing, and SEO copywriting as a career.
Conclusion
Content Rich is a great introduction to SEO and guide to SEO copywriting. Both are becoming increasingly more important in marketing successfully in the internet age.
SEO Copywriting DemystifiedJan 07, 2010 I meant to buy this book a long time ago but got around to it only recently. It's one of the best investments freelance writing business. I've read books and other resources on SEO writing before. And not all of what is said in the book is new to me. Yes, most of it is common knowledge to people somewhat familiar with SEO. However, this book differs in its step-by-step, non-condescending, practical approach to the process. I like the way Jon Wuebben builds the reader's confidence, reassuring us that Yes, (almost) anyone (interested in writing to market/sell/promote) can learn how to write SEO copy effectively. It's not rocket science. But there is some science to it. The book covers SEO writing for websites, emails, press releases, blogs and a few other types of content. Besides providing SEO writing tips, the author also suggests that there is a huge market of Mom and Pop shops and small to medium sized businesses available out there to freelance writers and copywriters willing to seek them out. So, in a sense, SEO writing has only just taken off, although it may seem like it has advanced by leaps and bounds in the past couple of years. A good buy and a must for every web writer's shelf. I hope to see social media writing( SEO tweeting and keyword rich FaceBooking?) addressed in future editions.

A Rare Amount of InformationNov 30, 2009 I read A LOT - hundreds of books a year. Each year, there are only one or two books that I would recommend to others and this is definitely one of them. This book is filled with cutting edge information that is both insightful and useful. The author is obviously extremely bright and generously shares everything he's learned.

Internet Wealth through SEONov 20, 2009 After attending multiple internet courses and reading many books on the topic of Search Engine Organization...finally I found the genuine article! Comprehensive, thorough, detailed, yet understandable for the non technical.
Jon Wueben has written the only "How To" book I've seen on this complex topic. He leaves no stone unturned in revealing all of the elements and how they come together and impact whether you get Google ratings, clients, or both! Covers everything from the basics of keywords to the secrets of SEO copywriting. If you follow Jon's instructions step by step you could be the next internet millionaire!? If not you'll at a minimum have a significantly better performing web site!

Content Rich Ceratainly Helped This Atlanta SEO Copywriter!Oct 23, 2009 This book is fantastic. It helped my SEO business in Atlanta
([...]) get right to the top of Google. It will teach you all about the things you need to understand about Search Engine Optimization and copywriting. It addresses the importance of the H1 tag, as well as the H2 and H3.
Don't forget the Title tag. Some people say that the keywords in the meta section are of no value now. I don't believe it, and I'm pretty certain the algorithms that Google, Yahoo, and Bing use change all of the time.
Yes the economy is pretty horrible right now, but Search Engine Optimization is a skill that is not going away anytime soon. Regardless of what happens or doesn't happen with the economy, do you really think that people will ever use the Yellow Pages like they did before? Of course not. And as time goes on, more and more capabilities are going to be built into cell phones. This will only increase the importance of having the right keyword phrases show up. The Dummies book by Bruce Clay is good, too, but it's close to 750 pages.Search Engine Optimization All-in-One Desk Reference For Dummies (For Dummies (Computers))
