2Could not find anything I already knew, there are better books about EbayNov 13, 2009
I'm a new EBAY member (never purchased or sold anything on Ebay) I purchased this book to get more "insider information", well, I read it and to be honest I already knew all the TIPS, where to find stuff? With my common sense and short business experience I had already figure it out. The only thing that made me felt good is that I was in the right track, but really, you don't need this book to figure out where to buy stuff to sell on Ebay.. don't waste your money. At the same time I purchased another book about EBAY, How to Buy, Sell, and Profit on eBay: Kick-Start Your Home-Based Business in Just Thirty Days by Adam Ginsberg, and that is really an EXCELENT BOOK, if you feel you need to understand how EBAY works, the book by Ginsberg is a much better choice.

5helpful in expanding an ebay businessSep 20, 2009
I have been a fan of email for about ten years. Have used to to clear clutter from my house as well as purchase everything from electronics to clothing.

With the changing economy, I've been looking for ways to supplement my income. Had heard about people doing well with Ebay, so I decided to give it a shot.

Got this book and found it very helpful in explaining how the "big boys" on Ebay do things. Gave me some good ideas for making money, but more importantly, how I can manage all the listings and shipping issues.

This is a little more work than some might think. It's definitely not a turnkey business that will run on its own, and the competition is stiff, but if you're looking to supplement your income, it's a great way to do it.

3Some Outdated Resources...Good Advice ThroughoutJun 22, 2009
Some of the resources listed in the book are outdated. This is rather surprising considering the fact that the book was only published in 2007. For example, resources such as Andale.com have been completely changed/revamped. Sites such as Wholesale411.com are filled with tons of spam. Other recommended sites such as Liquidation.com have generated tons of negative reviews from eBay veterans (search for Liquidation review in eBay guides).

Despite the outdated resources in the book, this book does give the average eBay seller a good number of hints and insider tips in regards to buying/locating your "niche merchandise". Just don't expect receiving a top-secret wholesale directory with dirt-cheap items. That simply does not exist for the average seller on eBay. Leave that to the major corporations like Walmart.

5Very Helpful SourceFeb 18, 2009
Very helpful book. Doesn't cover the basics of listings, if that's what you are looking for. Great for sources for ideas for services and for purchasing products to sell.

2Disappointed!Feb 08, 2009
I was extremely impressed with Amazon's shipping speed, and the book's 288 pages can easily be read in only a few hours. It provides a wealth of information for a "rank beginner" who's hoping to sell on Ebay, but I have read similar information in some of the FREE eBooks I've downloaded during the past year. This book does put the facts at your fingertips so you don't have to waste alot of time hunting for them, but it focuses mainly on the "basics", and using common sense. The very small directory of wholesale resources included at the end of the book leaves a lot to be desired. If you have no interest in selling the products the author has listed, then the Directory is of little value to you. I was swayed into buying the book because of all the positive feedback it received, something I won't do again. And, this was the first time I purchased a book directly from Amazon, paying full price, something else I won't do again. In my opinion, this book serves primarily as a starter's manual, as it does not offer much to someone who already knows the basics. I feel I wasted $[...] (with shipping) and I'm going to sell it on Amazon, and search for a book about becoming a more advanced seller, using techniques and resources Power Seller's use. If you're a beginner -- Buy This Book!!! -- but if you already know the basics -- save your money and look for something better suited to "your" needs.
