Comprehensive and CompleteNov 13, 2009 Brent's Book is comprehensive and complete. He explains why each aspect of the marketing plan is important and step by step guides you though each approach and clearly illustrates how to implement each stage of the plan. Not eveyone will be comfortable with using every tool available but most authors will see the value in enough of the ideas to use them. I know that what he focuses on in his book is information you can slowly dig out from the pages on Amazon itself. But why do that when he provides in his book the highlighted sections for you and fully engages you in the follow through of their use. The advantage he gives is that he has totally organized for you the various tools and placed them right in front of you with complete explanations as to how to gain more exposure from the use of them for your book. Regardless of the subject matter of your book, you want more people to made aware of it. Thurman L. Faison author "To The Spiritually Inclined" Amazon.com
Well Worth ReadingOct 26, 2009 I wasn't going to bother with this book, because to be honest it does not present as a very informative book on first sight. In the dreary recessionary times we have now, it is good to be pleasantly surprised. I have had this book open each time I've logged into my author page in recent times. As a result, I have posted a number of book lists, my first guide and refined my overall Amazon marketing practices for my soon to be best seller (I have a dream) SHEIFGAB the World: 8 Building Blocks to Successful Job Transition
There is no silver bullet in book marketing, but I genuinely do believe that if you follow Sampson's advice, you have a much better chance of being successful with Amazon than authors who do not.
The foreword to the book is written by Dan Poynter, author Dan Poynter's Self-Publishing Manual, 16th Edition: How to Write, Print and Sell Your Own Book (Self Publishing Manual) which will save you money and provide great ideas and also Dan Poynter's Self-Publishing Manual, Volume 2: How to Write, Print and Sell Your Own Book which provides really useful information for the digital age in what is admittedly a very short book.
Light of DayOct 23, 2009 I enjoyed reading Graham Swift's "Light of Day". I like the way the story is told.
This author, like Muriel Spark, enjoys adopting complex narrative techniques, rejecting the linear narrative approach. I find this method interesting. It incites the reader to be more alert so as not to miss any clues.
Memory is important for creating narrative that emphasizes the relationship between past and present. Both these writers emphasize the sometimes disorderly nature of man's existence.

My favorite reference bookOct 21, 2009 I have moved this one from mmy bedside table where I keep my current reading to the chair in the living room where I do all my work. I use it as a reference and am working through it chapter by chapter, applying the recommendations as I go.
Makes senseOct 16, 2009 I'm learning a lot about how Amazon and perhaps by extension how the internet works. The book is clearly written and I'm in the process of implementing the advice on my current novel. I'm pretty confident it'll make a difference and complement the success of any book in the form greater exposure. The Kennedy Effect
